Privacy policy

Scope

Trindex provides accommodation research and comparison. We do not take reservations, collect booking payments or offer traveller accounts. A separate administrator sign-in is used to manage the service. Our terms of use explain the site's role.

Technical information

Vercel hosts the website and Supabase provides database and administrator authentication services. Requests needed to deliver and secure these services can involve IP addresses, browser information, requested pages and timestamps. Access by those providers is governed by their service arrangements and privacy policies, not by a promise that browsing is anonymous.

We use temporary request counters to limit abusive traffic and repeated sign-in attempts. These counters use pseudonymous identifiers derived from connection or account information. They are separate from advertising analytics.

Comparison preferences

Search conditions are stored in the page URL so that you can share a search or return to it through browser history. Anyone receiving that URL can see its conditions. Conditions may also appear in ordinary hosting request records. Selected comparison stays are also stored in this browser’s local storage (up to three stays), and the shared comparison URL lists their identifiers. Use Clear comparison to remove the local shortlist. The comparison interface does not create a visitor profile or send preferences to a standalone analytics service.

Saved stays and recent views

We keep identifiers for up to 50 saved stays and six recently viewed stays in this browser’s local storage. No traveller account is needed, and these records do not sync to other devices. Press a saved heart again to remove a stay, or choose Clear recent views to remove browsing history from this feature. Clearing this site’s browser data removes both records. These records are not sent to a standalone analytics service.

Travel details for booking websites

Dates, adult and room counts, and children’s ages entered in the booking panel are kept in this tab’s session storage. Choose Clear travel details to remove them. We do not save these details on Trindex’s server. Opening the booking link passes them to Klook through Travelpayouts; they may appear in the destination URL, browser history and those providers’ access records. No child’s name or date of birth is requested.

Administrator sign-in

Administrator sign-in sends credentials to Supabase through the site's server. Administrators also verify a code from their registered authenticator app. Authenticator setup material is shown only during setup and must be kept private. An HTTP-only authentication cookie maintains an authorised administrator session for up to one hour and is marked secure in production. Administrator review records cover proposals, approvals, application of changes and rejections. They retain the acting administrator's account identifier, action and timestamp, reasons, supporting source URLs and excerpts, and before-and-after values where relevant. These records support review traceability and accountability. These records are not exposed through the public catalog. These functions are separate from public comparison browsing; visitors do not need to sign in to research stays.

Optional tools and external links

Choosing Map loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap. These requests disclose ordinary connection information, including your IP address, browser information and the requested map area, to its tile service. The map does not request your device location. Staying in List view without opening Map avoids these tile requests. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.

The Travelpayouts connection-test page loads its third-party script only after you choose to enable the tool. Once enabled, it makes requests to the provider and may use tracking technologies. Leaving the tool disabled avoids loading that script through this page. Enabling it is optional and is not required for comparison browsing.

External property or booking websites have their own privacy and cookie policies. Review them before providing information there. Any commission-bearing links are identified when displayed; see our affiliate disclosure.

Analytics

Booking-click measurement is off by default. Only if you allow it under Privacy choices in the footer do we record the stay, booking provider and link identifiers, page language, button placement and server receipt time in Trindex’s database. A new random ID for each click prevents duplicate submissions; it does not identify a visitor, device or session. These measurement records do not contain travel dates, party size, children’s ages, full URLs, referrers or IP addresses. Ordinary hosting and security processing still applies as described above.

We save your allow/decline choice and its date in this browser for 180 days. Choose No thanks in the footer at any time to stop future measurement. We do not measure when the choice cannot be saved or your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. No third-party analytics script is loaded. QA-tab clicks are recorded separately as tests. Click counts are neither bookings nor revenue and do not represent all visitors.

Click records are not linked to a traveller account and are used to improve the site. We keep no visitor identifier for finding your individual past clicks. Withdrawing permission stops future measurement; it does not remove previously recorded click counts.

Enquiries and privacy requests

The contact page shows whether an email enquiry channel is available. There is no public submission form on this site. If you use a published email address, your address and message are needed to respond and handle your request. Send only the information relevant to the enquiry, and do not include passwords, payment-card details, passports or sensitive health documents.

You may use that channel for questions about personal information or requests to exercise applicable privacy rights. The available rights and any necessary identity checks depend on applicable law; this policy does not limit those rights.

Retention and service providers

Technical records and administrator data are subject to the relevant service settings and applicable legal requirements. This page does not promise immediate deletion or a fixed retention period for every type of record. Service providers may process information in countries other than the one from which you access the site.
