A closer look
The före hotel-room accommodation at Hakone Retreat offers four room categories, separate from villa 1/f. There are no televisions. Communal hot-spring baths stand apart from the guest rooms along a woodland path. Only the Fore Suite has a bathtub, containing heated water rather than onsen; other före rooms have showers.

Getting there
Take a Hakone Tozan bus from Hakone-Yumoto or Odawara to the 俵石・ガラスの森 bus stop, then walk about five minutes to the entrance gate. Carts connect the entrance and parking area with the property. There are 45 parking spaces with no advance reservation. Outdoor paths and stairs, including stairs to the communal bath, limit step-free access.

Check-in is 15:00 and checkout 11:00. All rooms are non-smoking. Children who are not toilet trained cannot use the communal bath. Multi-night före stays receive daily room cleaning, towel replacement and amenity replenishment, with sheets and indoor clothing changed every other day. Dinner additions should be requested at least three days ahead and depend on availability.
