A closer look

A Japanese-style ryokan beside Lake Ashi with lake-facing tatami rooms and hot-spring bathing. Accommodation and the historic main-building bathing facilities should not be confused when choosing a stay.

Time to unwind

Onsen & bathing

Overnight guests can use the annex’s baths and the neighbouring historic main-building onsen; the hotel lists main-building bathing as complimentary for staying guests. A day-use package with a private rest room in the main building is different from an overnight room with its own bath. Check the precise room and plan rather than treating those descriptions as interchangeable.

Meals & stay plans

Houou-no-ma is a dining room for overnight guests, with chairs in a tatami-floored setting. It serves seasonal kaiseki dinners and a Japanese breakfast. Dinner choices have different order deadlines: Fuji Kaiseki is listed as requiring five days’ notice, while Kocho Kaiseki can be ordered until noon on the day. The dining venue may change depending on circumstances.

Before you book

For the overnight annex, standard check-in is 15:00 and check-out 11:00. These times changed on 1 April 2026, replacing the former 14:00/10:00 arrangement. Distinguish the overnight annex from the historic main building used for day bathing when checking your booking and arrival point. Dinner courses have their own advance-order deadlines.
